Registration is now open to all Club members for the Geelong Branch’s Scent Work Taster workshop with noted scent work trainer, Simone Daley, to be held on Saturday 23 November 2024. This is a great opportunity to learn how to capture your dog’s natural sniffing behaviour and direct it to searching for target scents.
There will be two sessions held inside the Geelong Branch clubrooms at Elcho Park, 125 Elcho Road, Lara: 9.00am – 12.00pm and 1.00 – 4.00pm. Cost: Dog/handler team $60; Instructor/dog team $30; Observer (no dog) $30. Bookings will be limited to 7 dog/handler teams and 3 observers per session.
Scent work is an activity that can build a dog’s ability to focus, increase their confidence, and give them a sense of purpose. Whether you are there as part of a dog team or have left your nervous-around-people dog at home to observe others in action, you will come away with the essential skills of scent work. It may remain a backyard pastime or lead to competition or detection dog pursuits but, wherever it takes you, your dog will simply love doing it!
Registration is open until 18 November so get in quickly to book your spot.
